Delhi's Master Plan with perspective up to
2001, adopted after the Asian Games, emphasized the development of play
and sports areas at convenient distances for all sections of society.
- Master Plan 2001 laid down norms for creating Divisional Sports Centers,
District Sports Centers, Neighbourhood Play Area and Residential Unit
Play Areas.
- In implementation of the Master Plan, DDA has so far developed 12
fully operational Sports Complexes in different urban zones of Delhi.
- Another Sports Complex at Vasant Kunj is at an advanced stage of development
and will be opened soon.
- DDA is also developing Mini Sports Complexes in selected play-fields
to provide facilities like swimming pool, multi-gyms etc.
- Baba Gang Nath Sports Complex at Munirka, a Mini Sports Complex was
inaugurated in December 2002.
- Two Mini Sports Complexes are being developed in Pratap Nagar and
in Kanti Nagar and a few more are being planned spread over the city.

2 for the fees payable for obtaining membership to the Sports Complexes.
Membership is approved by or on behalf of the Sports Management Board.
- Non-members can also use the facilities in the Sports Complex on a
"Pay and Play" basis by paying the prescribed charges and becoming a
casual member for a day.
- After showing their school/college Identity Cards, students can use
facilities at Sports Complexes between 10 AM and 4 PM, without becoming
members, on payment of Rupees ten per day or Rupees two hundred per
month (for one hour every day).
- There is a special concession for senior citizens above 60 years of
age for obtaining membership. They pay only 20 percent of the normal
entry fee and 60 percent of the normal monthly subscription.
- Schools and Colleges can batch book the Sports Complexes on weekdays
at special rates, for team and individual games. For Government and
Government-aided schools there are further concessional rates for daily
and monthly booking for which refer to Table
3.
- DDA's Sports Complexes are open from 6 AM to 9 PM, with a lunch-break
from 1 to 2 PM. They remain closed on every Monday and on 15th August,
2nd October and 26th January - the three national holidays.
