Achievements

• Mass Rapid Transit System

System for intra-city passenger movement consisting of underground, surface and elevated, D.M.R.C. has drawn up proposals for various MRTS Routes in Delhi. Work is under progress at full swing. Shahdara - ISBT corridor has already started functioning.


• Modernization of Nizamuddin, Old and New Delhi Railway Station (provision of second entry to all the stations).

• Alignment
  Planning and implementation of master plan roads.

• Design of Intersection

Design of master plan road intersections.

• Flyovers
  Formulation of plan proposals are done by road owning agencies viz DDA, MCD, NDMC, PWD, DTTDC also contributes in the implementation. DDA being the planning Authority approves the plans. Approval of DUAC is also required before implementation. During Asiad 1982 seven grade separators on different roads and railway lines were envisaged after that planning of flyover came to stand still. Again in last five years about 47 grade separators on different master plan roads and railway lines have been planned, out of these 47 grade separators 20 have already been completed, 16 are under construction and rest 11 flyovers are in the pipe line. With the completion of these flyovers ring road and outer ring road would become signal free. The details are as follows:-

• Petrol Pump
  T & T unit of DDA coordinates the processing of Petrol Pump sites to the letter of intent (LoI) holders from various oil companies as well as shifting/relocation of objectionable petrol pump. Mode of allotment till August 2003 was through lottery system and now it has been decided to do the allotment through an open auction.

• CNG Outlets
  As per the Supreme Court order dated usage of CNG in public transport has come in a big way. DDA has provided ---- CNG filling station sites to GAIL. Unlike petrol pump CNG is permitted in all use zones using recreational (except district parks, regional parks and developed parks). A modification in the Master plan to this effect has already come.
  
  
• Multi Level Parking - formulation of policy framework for multi level parking. An experimental project in Nehru place with private partnership is under implementation.
  
  
• In addition to above TT Unit is under taking beautification schemes of two master plans/ VIP roads in the city.
  
  
• Work of 2 level GT road from Shahdara to Delhi Border has already been planned and completed and planning of two level Mathura Road near Badarpur is under planning.
  
  
• For the convenience of the cyclists - cycle Track routes including tourism related cycle tracks have been planned in Delhi.
  
  
• For the planned development of Delhi TT unit of DDA is also coordinating with NCRPB, Steering Committee of MRTS, road safety and traffic transportation engineering committee, speed breaker committee and sub way committee formulated under Pr. Secy. PWD.
